(Telecompaper) Vodafone Netherlands is advising the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to organise the upcoming broadcasting auction in a different way. The company made its stance clear in a comment to a consultation held by the ministry over the DVB-T2 auction. Vodafone NL believes that the auction/allocation in its current form could lead to distortions in competition.

Vodafone NL to offer 3 mths unlimited data with new plans

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Netherlands has introduced new postpaid plans, offering bigger data packages and the first three months unlimited internet. Vodafone said the offer will allow customers to test out the possibilities of its faster LTE network and meet the growing demand for streaming video over mobile devices. The new range of Smart, Red and Black plans will be available from 04 April. Black is the new name for its high-end plans, offering unlimited calls and SMS in the Netherlands and 43 other countries, as well as 25 GB at home and 2 GB when roaming. In addition, use of Napster and Vodafone's TV Anywhere service are included with no charge for associated data. Customers combining Smart, Red or Black mobile plans with Vodafone's fixed-line residential services will receive additional benefits of extra data or more TV channels.
Vodafone sets up global cyber security division

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Group has created a new global business unit dedicated to providing enterprise customers with cyber security technologies and specialist advice and support. The new Vodafone Enterprise Security Services (VESS) division will bring together the Group's current portfolio of security products under the leadership of Simon Church, who will join the company in April as VESS Chief Executive. He will report to Vodafone Enterprise CEO Nick Jeffery. VESS will offer an expanded range of products, services and support in areas including: cloud-based protection for business-critical applications; network perimeter management; threat detection and response; and security assessments and advisory services focused on customer security policy development, risk management and compliance processes. It will co-operate with various strategic security partners.
