Thorn SDS is a cocontractor currently providing spacecraft engineering services to EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites. We are searching for both junior and senior engineers to complement our team in Germany. The responsibilities of the service include the routine and special operations of operational METEOSAT spacecraft, continuous monitoring of spacecraft performance and the operations preparation for the next generation of geostationary spacecraft, MTG. In addition to a relevant university degree, team members are expected to have expertise across one or more subsystems payload, TCS, EPS, TTC, DHS, AOCS, UPS and to work seamlessly together with the rest of the team to ensure a level of competence is always available. Experience of Spacecraft Operations or Spacecraft Operations Preparation, preferably for a Geostationary Earth Orbit GEO mission would be considered advantageous. The role will develop with the phases of the missions, so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fast paced environment.
