ID 3793 ROLE FUNCTION Satellite Operation Engineer in Darmstadt, Germany GENERAL CONDITIONS START June 2020 TYPE OF BUSINESS Aerospace CONTRACT Permanent WORKING LANGUAGE English DEADLINE 5th Jan 2020 MustHave Skills Experience of Spacecraft Operations and or Operation Preparation preferably on Low Earth Orbit LEO, with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, LEOP, commissioning or routine operations phases Experience in Satellite Databases. In particular, this shall include experience in the processes involved in developing and validating an operation database from a reference database delivered by the satellite manufacturer, and also experience in the use of scripting and SQL to implement changes and checks as efficiently and reliably as possible. Experience with OBSW maintenance activities, in particular memory image maintenance and Configuration Management CM processes for both ground images and onboard memory management Experience in definition, development and validation of operations for the development of satellite ground segment facilities such as monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, ground stations monitoring. Experience as simulation officer, satellite simulator management, coordination of rehearsals and team readiness assessment for launch. Experience of SCOS2000 mission control systems and use of the APEX operations procedures preparation and execution tool Experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes Experience in requirementsbased design, development and verification process following the ECSS standards and using DOORS. TASKS Contribute to Ops Prep development phase Support Ops Prep operations validation phase and team training Ops Prep engineering tasks to support Ground and Space Segments procurement and System teams. Responsible for overseeing activities required to customise Offline AR for the MetopSG 1A and MetopSG 1B satellites, which share a largely common platform but different instruments Coordinate the relevant inputs from members of the OPIT and Flight Operations Manuals and determine the best way to implement the required offline monitoring within the Offline AR tool CHART, and also play a leading role in defining how best to visualise data in the context of periodic reports. Prioritisation of work will be coordinated with the Satellite Ops Prep team leader and reiterated as necessary according to the project schedule and criticality of each

Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Air Sat team, you will have the following responsibilities Support development and specification of operational concept and FDIR Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery concept under the lead of the OPS Operation Pro Second system architect Interface with software team Specification of inputs requirements related to the onboard software of the platform payload control Definition of the project specific Packet Utilization Standard PUS and related telecommand and telemetry, in strong coordination with the satellite platform responsible Definition of the command and control structure with detailed definition of used PUS services, subservices and parameters to be used Assembling and coordination of the inputs for instruments Flight Operations Manual FOM and Instrument User Manual UM coming from different contributors Writing of the OPSFDIR related chapters of FOM and UM, describing the operational concept and the failure detection, isolation and recovery of the platform instrument Development and test of related Spacecraft operational procedures SOP and Onboard Control Macro Procedures OBMPs Provision of inputs to data handling and onboard software testdocuments and test specifications. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Bachelor Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field Several years of working experience Good teamplayer with excellent communication skills High level of assertiveness Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of the German language is strongly desired.
