We are currently looking for a Satellite Communications Engineer to support our customer in the United Kingdom. Satellite Communications Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will act as as an interdepartmental engineering interface within an innovative and dynamic organization. You will be responsible for undertaking spectrum resource management and satellite communications engineering task including Link budget analysis Transmission planning Redundancy Strategy Planning and processes Preparation of operational processes documentation Participation in relevant operations reviews and meetings RF and network performance investigation and troubleshooting Technical support to ProductsPreSales and Marketing Represent the company with to customers in support of sales activities. Development and improvement support on existing SRM toolkits for modelling and simulation of endtoend system performance Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant field Experience in satellite communications engineering with knowledge of RF, spectrum resource allocations, traffic analysis, digital communications, payload engineering, air interface communications standards such as DVBS2, DVBRCS as well as digital modulation schemestechniques Proficiency in link budgeting Programmingsoftware engineering skills with good knowledge of MATLAB and Visual Basic Experience developing systems documentation, test plans and procedures as well as operational procedures Strong analytical skills Confidence in working directly with potential customers and subcontractors at the technical level Excellent organisational skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. The organization has a matrix organization structure and the position is located in the System Engineering department, meaning you can support multiple projects simultaneously. Tasks and Responsibilities Technical responsibility for the satellite system integrity, including mission satellite performance, requirements engineering, design and performance engineering, satellite configuration, interface control for satellite subsystems and payloads, engineering budget control Managing the different engineering disciplines and satellite subsystems through all project phases Definition of the verification philosophy from system to component level and definition of the assembly, integration and verification plan on system level, ensuring consistency with subsystem level and payload developments Planning, coordination and control of the overall design and development process, including monitoring and control of engineering activities related to satellite subsystems and payloads as well as procurement activities Focal point for lower level system engineers satellite subsystem and payload lead engineers Leading an engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in system level activities.
