Ground Segment Engineer Copernicus

RHEA is currently recruiting a Ground Segment Engineer to support the Sentinel3 S3 operations at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Maintenance and necessary evolutions including the necessary coordination with the other S3 Ground Segments and Core Ground Stations at architectural and system engineering. Providing support to the AIV activities during the integration phase. Coordinating the verification of the new systems and their interfaces into the EUMETSATs Sentinel3 ground segment. Preparing and providing the support of the day to day operation and maintenance, the analysis, and ground segment level testing of the facilities which also includes the handling of anomalies, design of upgrades and configuration changes for these facilities at overall ground segment level. Being the focal point when it comes to integrating the individual Facilities into a ground segment system, covering all aspects of system integration and testing, including endtoend testing. Maintaining an uptodate set of design documents and Interface Control Documents for the operational systems. Performing technical analysis of system architecture and specification for evolutions or major upgrades. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory At least a university degree in the relevant discipline with 3 years of experience in the domain of work. Experience in system engineering for the development or major upgrades including support to operations and maintenance of EO related ground segments or main components of them based on large scale software. Knowledge and experience in ECSS, ISO, Software development related to Ground System engineering processes and standards. Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Experience of ground segments which are designed and developed taking advantage by the reuse of existing generic infrastructure and functional elements System and Interfaces Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgradesnew ground systems in a 247 operational environment.
