LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf fulfilling the task of Ground Segment Operations Engineering in the Galileo Control Center for our customer GfR in Oberpfaffenhofen. The scope of this position is to fulfill the tasks of the ground operations engineer at GCCD within Galileo FOC operations preparation phase. The main tasks of the position will be Maintenance of Ground Operations Products Ground procedures, plans and databases Preparesupportexecute Ground Operations Preparesupportexecute Validation activities. Support to identify Ground anomaly and assist with the investigation Assist to interface with the remote sites support which interact with the GCS TTCF support, IOT, Satellite Manufacture SATMAN, External Spacecraft Control Centre ESCC etc Assist with the planning and Coordination of GCS Maintenance Upgrades particularly to ensure there is no service impact Provide support for the progressive automation of Constellation Operations Preparation and participation of SCTCs and Simulations Procedure development and validation, testing, result reporting. Monitor services performance and trigger corrective actions Generate and maintain ground operations documentation Follow upsupport reviews and milestones Generate reports as required Take over ground positionduty on call support of routine and special operations Anomaly Reports handling writing, action processing, support of review boards Ground Operations Planning. Coordination and planning of ground activities. Offline analysis of the subsystem performance Required qualifications and work experience A Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or in an equivalent discipline Expert knowledge on Ground System is a must Knowledge on Ground operations Knowledge of the GALILEO project Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns Willingness taking over duty oncall to provide Ground Operations Support 247 Comfortable using LINUX Additional skills required Systemminded and a team player Very good social skills Able to work in an interdisciplinary team Selfstarter, able to work independently with little or no supervision Fluent in English, both in speech and writing German language skills would be an asset Benefits A permanent employment contract. Ground Segment Engineer Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. Telespazio VEGA offers a permanent position based in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany with an expected starting date in March 2015. Application closing deadline is October 31st, 2014. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Ground Segment Engineer shall support the development and maintenance of the S3 ground segment by providing support to the AIV activities during the integration of the S3 ground Segment and by coordinating the verification of the new systems and its interfaces into the Operational infrastructure. The Ground Segment Engineer shall also maintain an uptodate set of design documents and Interface Control Documents for the operational systems and shall perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification for evolutions or major upgrades of the S3 ground segment.
