Direct clothing imports from outside the EU have dropped in most European markets in the fourth quarter of 2019, however rising in Spain. Shipments to the UK have significantly declined in the last five years, ahead of the Brexit, whereas unit prices were surging. Clothing brands tangled in Uyghur forced labour claims

A new study from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) has alleged more than 80,000 Uyghurs were transferred out of Xinjiang between 2017-19 to work in factories including ones making garments and footwear.
