This is an opportunity for an Engineer to work in the domain of satellite operations operations preparations directly on customer site in ESOCDarmstadtGermany. The position is full time and unlimited. Submission deadline for this position is 23rd of January 2016 and expected starting date is MarchApril 2016. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The areas of responsibility for this service are corresponding to a Systems Engineering Service but including activities within specific subsystems e.g payload and within the scope of general SOE services, such as test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System, Automation System and Simulator. The service to be provided will be primarily assigned to a particular mission Cluster II within Solar and Planetary Mission family but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family. Study of specific Mission Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Functional Requirements for Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support OnBoard Software Maintenance Support Supervision of daily operations and reporting General Flight Control Support Spacecraft Performance Analysis Support to other missions could also include SVT, Launch Campaign, LEOP, etc. QUALIFICATIONS University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Spacecraft subsystem knowledge Fluency in English, both in speech and writing DESIRABLE SKILLS Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Able to work independently Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Familiarity with Planning and Automation Systems. A familiarity with AI Planning and Scheduling techniques is an asset. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
