HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Data Dissemination Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Operational support for data dissemination systems including oncall support Requirements analysis including the definition of system and software requirements System design including software corrections and evolutions, redesign of legacy systems, user interfaces, and identification, procurement or implementation of tools Software testing including regression testing, acceptance of external software and verification and validation support Support the delivery of externally developed software Generation and maintenance of technical documentation Participation in and organisation of technical meetings and formal reviews Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline Solid experience in the provision of first line support for operational systems Experience in the operation and maintenance of satellite data dissemination distribution systems including experience with satellite data formats Several years experience in translating technical requirements into appropriate technical design and implementation Extensive experience in software development, maintenance, validation and verification related activities Extensive experience in designing and developing software components and applications in the CC programming language under Unix Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
