We are currently looking for a Data Processing Applications Engineer to join our team in Germany. Data Processing Applications Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities The Key person shall provide engineering support to design and system engineeringreengineering activities in data processing for ground segments. You will have the following responsibilities Definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments product quality control, calibration and validation, production monitoring and reporting Support the operation of data processing ground segments, their maintenance and evolution including Configuration Management and Change process, Installation, configuration and testing of software updates, Anomaly investigations, documentation and classification, Follow up of the delivery of SW resolutions for any engineering change Integration test and verification of software in the ground segments Settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures Support to software procurement and coordination with external suppliers Participation in meetings and formal reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering, physics, or computer systems Requirements, design, interfaces and testing of EO data processing systems Software design, development, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of large complex realtime data processing systems for Earth Observation missions OO software development for satellite instrument data processing systems Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation CC, IDL and shell scripting andor PERL Programming of database systems ORACLE, INFORMIX, PostgreSQL or MySQL Fluency in English is mandatory another European language is an advantage.
