We are looking for a Data Processing Service Engineer in order to provide engineering consultancy to design and system engineeringreengineering activities, fully system lifecycle, in the area of the Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Multi Mission Element framework, which consists in a system of offline Ground Segment elements, specifically for the Long Trend Analysis, Quality Monitoring and Reporting aimed to support the operational activities of existing and future programmes. Candidate areas are programmes such as EPS, MSG, MTG, EPSSG, JasonCS, and Sentinel 3. ResponsibilitiesDuties The tasks of the contractor will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt. Typical task will include In general the contribution to the definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components with special emphasis on product quality control and validation, production monitoring and reporting, which will mainly include Maintenance and evolutions of applications system in the area of the Monitoring Anaylsis and Reporting Multi Mission Element framework and in all its components Configuration Management, building and distribution of applications software releases and patches Contribution to applications software system design and reengineering in the area of the Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Multi Mission Element framework Another key role will be the supporting the operations of existing data processing ground segments and their maintenance and evolution, especially upgrading software including the implementation and maintenance of new algorithms for product quality control and calibrationvalidation activities.Performing routine tasks in operational systems under configuration control will be from importance for this position as well, which means Contribution to the configuration management process and the building and distribution of software releases and patches Contribution to the development, integration and configuration management of software developed by 3rd parties, its installation, and configuration and testing Anomaly investigations, documentation and classification Followup of the delivery of software resolutions for these anomalies Performing standard software engineering activities such as Software testing in a structured approach to verify, that delivered software is fulfilling the requirements or to demonstrate that problems have been corrected Software integration and verification in the EUMETSAT ground segments Settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures Contribution to the procurement and installation of software, and the coordination with external providers of support services Participation in meetings and formal reviews QualificationsExperience Education or studies in IT Computer Science or relevant discipline At least 2 years relevant experience in Microsoft Active Directory Environments Essential Skills Demonstrable experience of installing, administration Windows 2008 and 2012 server Excellent understanding and experience of working with underlying Microsoft technologiesservices such as DNS, WINS, DHCP, DFS, Group Policy, Windows Server Operating Systems, email archiving solution PowerShell FluentGood English and German speaking and writing skills Selfmotivated and able to work with minimum supervision Creative approach to problem solving A team player with a good sense of humor.
