In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Consultant shall have A minimum of 3 years experience in the realtime acquisition, Level 0 processing and Level 1 processing of data andor Level 2 processing of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating complex remote sensing data processing systems Experience with UNIXLinux operating systems Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Consultant to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft Programming Languages e.g. C, C and Fortran Scripting Languages e.g. Perl, Python, shell Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Knowledge andor experience of geophysical remote sensing data processing, e.g. Image Navigation and Registration INR, radiometric correction, calibration algorithms and retrieval of geophysical parameters The Consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. The working language for this position is English and therefore the Consultant must be able to work effectively in this language.
