For one of our clients in Oberpfaffenhofen, close to Munich, Germany, we are looking for a Database Operations Engineer fm. Tasks The objective of this work package is to provide support as a Database Operations Engineer required as part of the Commissioning and Routine Operations phases. The tasks of the Engineer shall include Maintain the Operations Databases Support to the maintenance of the Operations Spacecraft Database Support to the verification and validation of enhancements and major upgrades to the operational databases Interface with the operations and maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes Investigation into anomalies, their documentation, classification and correctionmitigation, participation in Anomaly Review Boards Participation in further technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Routine Operations Team Essential requirements The successful candidate will have the following qualifications A university degree in a relevant domain i. e. Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, etc. The Engineer will be required to have very good communication, presentation and team working skills The Engineer will be required to have a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills The Engineer shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Experience in SCOS Experience in operational database analysis, debugging and maintenance Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several tasks in parallel Desired Skills Experience in the following shall be considered as an advantage Experience in the ergonomic design of displays to maximize the clarity and speed with which information can be presented to users Other Information Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory Must be an EU national or possess a currently valid German Work Residence Permit Planned starting date is April 2013 Security clearance up to level secret is required To guarantee that your application is processed, please apply via our website httpwww.scisys.co.ukdewowirarbeitenspacekarrierespacejobs.html
