We are currently looking for an ExoMars Science Operations Engineer to support our customer in Spain. ExoMars Science Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Science Operations Centre SOC at ESAC, you will have, among other, the following responsibilities Uplink Data Production Tasks Definitionupdate and population of the SOC configuration controlled operations data instrument models, observation definitions, observation geometries Definition and generation of the SOC operations plan and procedures Science Ground Segment SGS Development tasks Provision of feedback on system performance and characteristics to system engineer and the sw developer throughout the production period as part of the iterative development process Definition and development of test cases, pass and fail criteria Ensure readiness for Nominal Science Phase Operations Configuring Nominal SOC systems to any payload activities preceding Validating the initial set of nominal science phase operations data Operations Rehearsal Science Operations Engineering tasks Long, Medium, Short Term Planning LTP, MTP, STP Scheduling of the Principal Investigators PI teamdefined contributing observations Validation with MAPPS to generate an operationally feasible candidate plan including pointing and resource allocations Refining the LTP in response to modified LTP inputs Kickoff MTP science planning by providing the PI teams with the baseline observation types including approval of the final MTP plan and freeze the MTP baseline Refining the science plan directly with the PI teams at the observation level Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant professional experience, in particular University education PhD or MSc in a relevant subject area Uplink science operations for solar system missions Payload modeling, simulation and commanding Simulation software for spacecraft operations and observation geometry Planetary science operation tools MAPPS, EPS, SPICE Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
