For our activities in ESOC, we are currently seeking a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to participate in the ExoMars mission as a member of the Flight Control Team FCT during the preparatory phases, LEOP and following routine activities. Tasks The primary areas of responsibility for this position are theTTC, communications and Data Relaysubsystems and the preparation, validation and maintenance of the internal and external interfaces for Mars data relay operations.The candidate may be also requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems as defined by the SOM or Division Head. Among others, the key person is expected to carry out the following tasks Study of Project Specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures including contribution to the Flight Operations Plan, Operations Concept, Operations Reports with special accent on the TTC subsystem and the Data Relay operations System Verification Tests SVT Procedures and Participation Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Operations Execution of spacecraft operations procedures for nominal and contingency cases as part of the Flight Control Team, mainly but not necessarily related to the TTC subsystem Analysis and reporting on spacecraft and ground segment performance Provision of on call support if and when required. For background information on the ExoMars mission see httpexploration.esa.intmars46124missionoverview Qualifications and Requirements Essential Previous experience in spacecraft platform subsystem operations Operational experience with interplanetary missions Understanding of Flight Control Team tasks and responsibilities pre and postlaunch Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to coordinate and interact with other team members during operations Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Desirable Strong educational background in engineering or science Handson experience with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations a.o. SCOS 2000 Mission Control System, MOIS testing, operations preparation and automation tool Familiarity with the ESOC environment Operational experience with TTC subsystems, data relay indirect operations concepts Previous experience with mission planning processes and tools Ability to work efficiently on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
