The role would ideally suit a contractor looking for a long term consultancy role within the space industry. The submission deadline for applicants is October 12th 2015. Key purpose Modelling of ground segment subsystems, addressing functional, behavioural and interface aspects as correlated to the data schema. Refactoring of the architectural design of existing systems within the context defined for the Reference Ground Segment creating the systems models. Support the consolidation, evolution and maintenance of the Reference Architecture and its related artefacts. Definition of requirements for the components of the GS reference architecture. Support the assessment of impacts of changes required for operational systems as result of evolution of needs and maintenance activities. Support the update and maintenance of the documentation of operational ground segments as follow up actions stemming from agreed evolution and changes of the systems. Key tasks Requirements engineering, which consists in requirements analysis and validation, requirements allocation, tracing, and requirements change control. Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques. Ground Segment components specification. Interface definition. System analyses, performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness. Tradeoff studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning for the implementation of changes requested by operations users and customers. Build models of Subsystem of the Reference Architecture Ground Segment, capturing their requirements, describing the internal architecture and defining their external interfaces. Support the generation, review and maintenance of the documentation of the Reference Architecture Subsystems addressing their architecture, functions, requirements and interfaces. Support the management of the requirements of the Reference Architecture subsystem and Components, heeding on the evolution of the operational system and future systems, using DOORS.
