This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Integration, Verification and Validation Engineer 1621176 Job Description We are looking for an integration, verification and validation engineer to work in the Meteosat Third Generation mission for our client EUMETSAT, which is responsible for IVV activities at Ground Segment and System levels. You will be part of a team that supports the integration and preparation of the Ground Segment GS and System for the launch, commissioning and operations of the MTGI1 and MTGS1 satellites. You will work mainly at the EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt Travel within Europe may be needed for the execution of specific tests. Standby for remote or callout support will be required. The following phases of MTG IVV need to be supported Integration of facilities into the Ground Segment, by verification of relevant interfaces, followed by verification of Ground Segment requirements Integration of the Ground Segment with the Space Segment and the LEOP service by verification of relevant interfaces, followed by verification of system requirements System operational validation. Within these phases, the tasks will include Finalisation of test specifications Generation of test procedures Adaptation or Development of both Test Data and Test Tools Execution of IVV Tests including Producing final test procedures, tuned tools and data if necessary Preparing Test Readiness Reviews and Test Readiness Board minutes Producing test reports, anomaly reports Providing asrun test procedures Required Skills and Experience A University degree or equivalent, including experience in the engineering, physics, or software field At least 3 years of experience in each of the following applications Satellite monitoring and control e.g. SCOS2000 Satellite communications packet TMTC, SLE protocol Mission control functions GS monitoring and control Near realtime, Earth observation data processing, archiving, distribution At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in Operating systems such as UNIXLinux Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring Automated software testing Requirements and verification management DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000 Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Software development environments such as Eclipse Relational databases, for example, MySQL, Oracle Desirable Skills and Experience You will also be able to demonstrate experience in Structured software development and verification Software maintenance, performance monitoring ECSS standards Configuration control Requirements and verification management Test tools in the IVV activities such as SATSIM, PDG, TTC Suitcase, TTIU, PIU and PTMR Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 31 October 2016 Start of Work 1st quarter 2017 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
