HE Space is a successful international space company. For 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Metop Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Metop Spacecraft Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. Your responsibilities will include Provide operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and Instruments Investigate satellite anomalies in cooperation with the Operations Support Entity Participate in the satellite oncall support rota Identify and support the implementation of system and process improvements Contribute towards the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites Support the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites Operations preparation support for Sentinel3 and JasonCS developments. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline Spacecraft monitoring and control operations, spacecraft operations preparation engineering and Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level Experience with some of the following would be an advantage Inorbit operations of Low Earth Orbit Earth Observation satellites Operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities Configuration management and simulator facilities Fluency in English is mandatory. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from October 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
