LSE Space is looking for 2 experienced Engineers mf in order to fulfill the duty as Metop Spacecraft Operations Engineer Consultant Support for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The tasks of these positions include in particular Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies. This may require a close cooperation with the Operations Support Entity in ESTEC and Industry Participation in the satellite oncall support rota Identification and support to implementation of system and process improvements concerning the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team responsibilities and interfaces. Support to the system and operations preparation of Metop Second Generation satellites Provide inputs and or review the definition of system and satellite operational concepts Review space to ground interface specifications and flight operations manuals Support the definition of tools and processes required to prepare for and operate the satellites. Support to the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites Provide operations preparation support as required to the Sentinel3 and JasonCS developments. Qualifications Experience Academic and work related requirements University degree in engineering, science or equivalent. Required experience and skills are Experience with Spacecraft monitor and control operations Knowledge of Spacecraft operations preparation engineering Proven track record on Low Earth Orbit spacecraft design or Assembly Integration and Test activities at system or subsystem level Perfect command of English, verbal and written Selfmotivated and able to work in an organised and efficient manner with minimum supervision Strong data analysis, processing and synthesis skills The following experience would be additional assets Inorbit operations of Low Earth Orbit Earth Observation satellites Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, onboard software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities Specification of system and operational concepts, facility requirements Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures Data analysis software packages such as MATLAB File parsing languages such as PERL, AWK Use of VBA for development of adhoc tools in MS Office applications Location of workEUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany.
