HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer EarthCARE to support our customer in Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer EarthCARE Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing satellite operations and ground station tracking network services to its users. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Data handling on board computer, including the Remote Interface Unit and the Mass Memory and Formatting Unit, together with their application softwares Team support with respect to units which contain embedded software Validation, test and operation of the Mission Control System MCS Setup, validation, test and operation of the OBSM systems Validation and test of the Data Handling Subsystem of the Simulator. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University or equivalent degree in engineering or physics Several years experience in a similar role Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, preferably for Data Handling Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard knowledge Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Some experience dealing with external interfaces Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt. We are looking for candidates who are available from December 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
