JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks Pre and operational services to be provided in the area of Sentinels Spacecraft Operations Engineering, initially to be assigned to the Sentinel3 Mission, including support to the Sentinel3A backup operations where the main mission is operated by EUMETSAT and the preoperational activities of Sentinel3B to be operated in the LEOP and Commissioning phases by ESOC, and to be later transferred to EUMETSAT for routine operations Allocation to other Sentinels missions for similar pre and operational tasks may be decided at a later stage The general activities of the OE Domain are described in the Copernicus Operations Service Support SoW. These are not repeated here. The OPSOES Spacecraft Operations Engineers SOE service needs within this WP shall cover the following general areas o Support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during the operational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting.. o For the participation to testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests of the above mentioned missions. o Validation, test and operation of the MCS in the areas of engineering expertise o Validation, test and operation of the Simulator in the areas of engineering expertise o Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP in the areas of engineering expertise, but also for other subsystems o Support to test and operate the NDIU o Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests o Review of satellite documents o LEOP support responsible for the areas of engineering expertise see below o Commissioning support responsible for the areas of engineering expertise see below o For the particular area of expertise linked to Ground systems see below, the service shall also provide support to the Implementation and maintenance of tools needed to manipulate the S2K based databases, to create synthetic parameters and to support the data analysis tasks, as required e.g. MSEXCEL, MSACCESS, Visual Basic, S2K Operational Language Maintenance of spacecraft operational databases, related tools, procedures and documentation under strict configuration control. Organization, training and operational readiness check of the spacecraft controllers assigned to the mission, in cooperation with the Sentinels Analysts. Support the FCT in the configuration, setup and operation of the Sentinels MUST servers Qualifications MSc in any related discipline Required knowledge Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in Satellite Flight Operations, including FDIR. In particular, for this service support detailed knowledge in the areas of o System Operations Engineering Support o AOCS Operations Engineering Support o Datahandling Operations Engineering Support o PowerThermalPDHU Operations Engineering Support o Payloads and Ground Systems Operations Engineering Support is required.
