For our activities in ESAC, we are currently seeking a System Software Engineer for Science Operations. Tasks System engineering and architectural design activities, including operating plans and procedures Designing, developing, implementing, testing, deploying, operating and maintaining software tools and systems, e.g. o Observation proposal handling, mission planning and quicklook systems, parts of which may be distributed to the community, o User support tools, o Interactive analysis and calibration systems, to be distributed as needed to the community for data reduction and analysis, o Data processing pipelines, o Contribute to the definition of Interface Control Documents ICDs and file interchange formats with external coordination units, o Contribute to the maintenance of the overall system, including configuration control and versioning, o Organise and perform end to end system testing with the scientific communities, o Scientific data archives and interfacing these to the virtual observatory, o Scientific and technical WWW systems to support Science Operations Centre, Science Ground Segment and the scientific community. Qualifications and Requirements Knowledge is required in system and software engineering practices Knowledge in the corresponding software development language, database systems Knowledge is required in ECSS standards for software development.
