For Astrium Satellites in Munich Ottobrunn within the area Strategy Business Development we are looking for a System and Test Engineer fm for the HAPS project HighAltitude PseudoSatellite. Since 2008, Astrium Satellites has been examining stratospheric pseudosatellite systems. These activities have led to a partnership with DLR within which a first prototype called ELHASPA has been developed that has flown for the first time in November 2011. In parallel, first contacts with potential external industrial partners have been established, and an EADS nursery project has been put in place. This project is jointly funded by EADS CTO, Astrium and Cassidian. The job holder will be part of the EADS HAPS Team. His primary task is to support the preparation and execution of flight trials. This may cover all areas of the system, such as Preparation of the platform Installation of the payload Ground tests Logistics support Her or his experience gained during the test campaigns will also be fed back into the technical analyses of the Nursery project to help improving the design and operational procedures. The job will require intensive travelling within Europe and sometimes other parts of the world, also for longer periods several weeks.
