JOB DESCRIPTION LISA Pathfinder LPF is the technology demonstrator for the LISA mission and its primary goal is to demonstrate the critical technologies needed for LISA. The payload onboard LPF consists of the European LISA Technology Package LTP and a contribution provided by the NASAJPL, the Disturbance Reduction System DRS. The Science and Technology Operations Centre STOC is the point of interface to the scientific community, and is responsible for the payload scheduling, quicklook data analysis, data processing and archiving. Responsibilities Duties Tasks Qualifications The service to be provided requires that the personnel should possess a university background in a scientific or technical subject and relevant experience of at least 5 years. In particular Required knowledge Experience needed in the preparation, testing and operations of a scientific operations centre or a similar system Experience in satellite payload operations Knowledge is required in system and software engineering practices Knowledge in the corresponding software development language, database systems Knowledge is required in ECSS standards for software development Desirable Knowledge The service personnel shall Be comfortable in an international working environment Be willing to travel During the operational phase of the mission extensive stays at ESOC Darmstadt, Germany may be needed.
