EUMETSAT is the European satellite agency for monitoring weather and climate. EUMETSAT is now embarking on a new and challenging development programme called EPSSecond Generation EPSSG, shaping the future of Europe in meteorology and climate monitoring, after the highly successful EPSMetop programme. Team Leader Ground Stations Engineering REF. VN1318 Playing a central role within our System Engineering and Projects Division, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and engineering of Ground Station and Space to Ground IF upgrades in line with users evolving needs. This will involve managing a team of engineers covering all critical areas of competence, whilst ensuring we retain the technical edge and representing the organisation at a number of key industry forums. In particular, you will support operational activities by securing the continued availability of our systems and you will oversee the rapid correction of nonconformances and anomalies, plus a managed approach to obsolescence. You will also put in place a longterm engineering and maintenance strategy that maximises availability whilst driving down costs. Highly experienced in ground stations engineering andor maintenance, you will be familiar with established system engineering standards such as ECSS and well versed in the full system development lifecycle. Equally importantly, you should be skilled in contract management spanning antennas, MC, SS and more, capable of controlling the engineering process from requirements definition through to verification, and adept at influencing diverse stakeholders. Equipped with a university degree or equivalent in a relevant disciplineIt is also vital that you have a sharp and analytical mindset, proven people management experience and strong interpersonal skills. Finally, it is essential that you can work effectively in English and that you also have a basic command of French.
