Deutsche Telekom reports underlying revenues up 3.5% in Q1

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom reported first-quarter revenues up 8.7 percent to EUR 19.5 billion, driven by acquisitions in Austria and the Netherlands and continued growth at T-Mobile US. Adjusted EBITDA after leases, which excludes the impact of new accounting rules, rose 8.3 percent to EUR 5.9 billion, and free cash flow on the same basis increased 18.1 percent to EUR 1.6 billion.

Sprint says more challenges ahead after quarterly loss, service revenues down 3.6%

(Telecompaper) Sprint reported a net loss of USD 2.17 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter to March, hurt by an impairment charge of USD 2 billion to write down assets. That compares to a small profit of USD 69 million in the year-earlier period. Revenues rose 4.4 percent to USD 8.44 billion, led by higher equipment sales, and adjusted EBITDA was up 13.3 percent to USD 3.14 billion, thanks to cost reductions and a positive effect from the new lease accounting standards.

Liberty Global revenues slide 0.6% in Q1, pulled lower by Belgium, Switzerland

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global said revenues from continuing operations slipped 0.6 percent from the year before to USD 2.868 billion in the first quarter, with gains at B2B, up 3.2 percent, not able to offset declines of 1.1 percent at residential cable and of 2.4 percent at residential mobile. By region, only Continuing CEE (Slovakia and Poland) booked gains. Revenues from the UK/Ireland were almost flat and they slipped 1.1 percent lower at Central and Corporate. At Belgium, they fell 0.6 percent while at Switzerland they declined 3.7 percent.
