DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 PM HST (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Felicia was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 130.1 West. Felicia is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn to the west is expected later tonight or on Monday. A general westward motion should then continue for a few days. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 110 mph (175 km/h) with higher gusts. Felicia is a category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Additional weakening is expected during the next few days. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km).
