RHEA is currently recruiting an AOCS Expert to support a space project at our clients premises in Toulouse, France. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Development of two AOCS modes TTM Thruster Transition Mode and TNM Thruster Normal Mode including gyroless estimation function Development of two AOCS functions ephemeris onboard propagation function and ground attitude guidance onboard propagation Coengineering with system team to gain detailed understanding of mission requirements concerning TTM and TNM and ephemeris and ground attitude guidance functions Coengineering with CSW team to define ICD between the AOCS part and the rest of the CSW Design, specification and justification of the AOCS algorithms of TTM and TNM including the gyroless attitude estimation function and ephemeris and ground attitude guidance functions to meet mission requirement, in particular AOCS performances, and AOCS failure detection and isolation requirements. The following functions shall be included in the design ephemeris and ground attitude guidance functions, attitude controller, gyroless estimator and actuators commands. Modelling of the AOCS algorithms in MatlabSimulink following the Airbus Defence and Space standards in AOCS MCL SW which will be autocoded by Airbus Tuning of AOCS parameters including failure detection thresholds, if any AOCS MCL model verification Functional validation of the AOCS algorithms, by means of closedloop time simulation test cases covering all the AOCS algorithms called the Reference Test Cases Performance validation of the AOCS algorithms, including by means of closedloop time simulation test cases campaign to get significant statistical assessment of performances when required Integration of the AOCS MCL MatlabSimulink model in the overal JUICE AOCS MatlabSimulink model Execution of all the TTM and TNM Reference Test Cases defined above on the integrated AOCS MatlabSimulink simulator Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in relevant engineering or other relevant field Experience in AOCS GNC analyses and simulations Experience with MatlabSimulink simulator for spacecraft dynamics, AOCS equipment and space environment as well as gyrostellar estimator, thruster modulator, etc Knowledge of the following equipment Star trackers, Gyros, Sun sensors, Reaction wheels, Thruster, Solar Array Drive Mechanism, etc Problem solving mindset Excellent command of English French would be a plus Great team spirit How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? A vacancy for an AOCS Attitude and Orbit Control System GNC Guidance Navigation and Control Studies Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the AOCSGNC Flight Dynamics Development department. As the AOCS GNC Studies Engineer, you will be in charge of AOCSGNC studies for satellite and space projects in the development phase. The projects cover all applicative domains Earth Observation e.g. Pleiades, Spot 67, CSO, Science missions e.g. Rosetta, Bepicolombo, or Geostationary telecommunication satellites e.g. SES Astra, Arabsat, etc.. You will conduct AOCSGNC activities for programmes in the development phase and will therefore be in charge of the following activities Designing AOCSGNC estimation and control laws and all associated onboard algorithms engineering requirements for the AOCS functional chain missions, environment, characteristics of spacecraft dynamics, avionics equipment performances, analysis and tradeoffs of control solutions, and preliminary performances of functional simulators, Defining and specifying representative modelling of sensors and actuators, covering functional, performance and dynamic aspects, to be used within the Functional Validation Bench simulator running AOCS flight software in closedloop, Specifying onboard algorithms to the software team and functionally validating the simulator, Tuning flight software functional parameters and establishing detailed functional budgets pointing, stability, consumption, etc., Validating functional performances through intensive validation campaigns on simulators. Defining and supporting the execution of reference validation cases used during later development stages, avionics test benches and AIT, Participating with the Launch and Early Operation phases as the AOCS specialist and providing functional expertise support for inorbit maintenance operations throughout the satellites lifetime. This role will involve some travel for business twice a year in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
