BCE sells data centres to Equinix for CAD 1 billion

(Telecompaper) Canadian operator BCE has agreed to sell 25 data centres to Equinix for CAD 1.04 billion (USD 750 million) in cash. The sale is part of Bell's strategy to focus on its core telecom network infrastructure, and BCE said it will keep five data centres used as central offices.

BCE will put CAD 1 bln into Manitoba after MTS deal closes

(Telecompaper) Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) shareholders have approved BCE's plans to acquire MTS. The transaction still needs to clear a few more regulatory hurdles but is expected to close on schedule, either in late 2016 or early 2017. BCE (Bell) welcomed the decision said, saying the companies' combined operations in Manitoba will be known as Bell MTS, and Winnipeg will become Bell's Western Canada headquarters. When the deal closes, Bell said it will invest CAD 1 billion over five years into expanding broadband wireless and fibre communications services in Manitoba.
BCE buys Manitoba Telecom Services for CAD 3.9 bln

(Telecompaper) BCE will buy Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) in a transaction valued at CAD 3.9 billion. MTS shareholders will receive CAD 40.00 per share, in a combination of cash of BCE shares. The deal has been approved by the boards of both MTS and BCE and is supported by the management teams of both companies. Winnipeg will become the headquarters for Western Canada, set to host 6,900 employees with the addition of the MTS team.
