Active Space Technologies is an engineering company, focusing on thermal, mechanical and system engineering, as well as on development of instruments, subsystems and technologies for the aerospace and scientific sectors and to other hightechnology focused industries. Active Space Technologies has a considerable experience in the field of thermal and structural engineering and since 2008 is active in the thermal design of small satellites and instruments, for which internal developments of thermal technologies have been started. In the past years the volume and quality of the projects acquired has risen and the company is now growing and searching for new personnel. Job Description In the framework of several ESA, NASA and German programs, Active Space Technologies GmbH is performing a broad range of thermal engineering activities on systems and instruments for different space missions, as well as developing new thermal technologies. These activities include the whole spectrum of thermal engineering, starting with conceptualization and thermal architecture and progressing though design, analysis, procurement, manufacturing, testing and correlation. The candidate shall supervise and coordinate all thermal activities of the company, taking care that all projects proceed smoothly. Heshe will also take part in the same projects, whenever competences of higher level e.g. thermal architecture, test planning are required. Direct involvement in complex analyses will also be required. As responsible of the thermal department, the candidate shall interact with the CEO and CTO, especially during sales activities preparation of proposals and offers and in matters of strategy and planning regarding the thermal department. A proactive approach is required the candidate is expected to bring forward hisher own ideas. Required Experience Master or equivalent degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a wellfounded knowledge of spaceflight mechanics, space environment and space thermal hardware. 46 years of experience as thermal engineer in a space company or institution, with duties in both simulation and experimental environments. The candidate, during hisher career shall have had followed all the phases of the thermal engineering of a space object and have had roles of some responsibility. Fluent in English, spoken and written Proven ability to create, write and maintain technical documents Advanced knowledge of ESARAD and ESATAN modelling languages including ESATANTMS and basic knowledge of Fortran Desired Experiences Knowledge of at least one programming language Knowledge of VBA Basic knowledge of CFD modelling techniques and languages Basic knowledge of Project Management and Quality Required Skills Team spirit, skill elasticity and proactive attitude Effective time management and good people management skills Ability and willingness to work with minimal supervision and to assume a role of responsibility, responding only to the CEO and CTO Willingness to travel
