Operational Systems Security Officer Consultancy Support 1313014 Job Description The Candidate shall support the security aspects of all Operational Systems within the System Operations Team. The Operations Department is currently implementing an information security management system ISMS framework to cover its operational activities and processes. The security policy and associated documents are being restructured and extended to conform to the breakdown provided in the ISO 27001 standard. The main focus of the tasks to be performed is primarily on the implementation of an ISMS framework and secondly on the associated technical processes. The tasks of the Key Person will typically include Perform the book captaincy role for the ISMS documents Support the establishment and maintenance of Interconnect Security Agreements with EUMETSAT partners Review changes to existing systems for adherence to the security policy and associated procedures Provide relevant security requirements for new programmes andor major procurements Provide security consultation to new programmes to ensure that they adhere to the security policy Organise, support and evaluate periodic internal audits or security audits performed by external entities Organise and support the provision of security related activities from an external support security service provider Organise, support and minute the activities of the Security Steering Committee Monitor security alert sites for announcements of relevant threats Identify and followup security vulnerabilities in operational system In the case of security vulnerabilities ensure that corrective actions or security controls are implemented Create and check audit trailslogs to identify security violations Establish processes and procedures to monitor secure communications over nonsecure links Coordinate the installation and configuring of packages to support prevention, detection and response to security threats Provide training to Operations and Technical support staff concerning operational security Contribute to the security awareness initiatives at organisational level Participate in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling planning meetings Maintain appropriate contacts with special interest groups or other specialist security forums and professional associations shall be maintained. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Operational System Security Engineering. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Consultant must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Good knowledge and at least 5 years experience of the following is mandatory ISOIEC 270022005 Information technology Security techniques Code of practice for information security management Network security solutions and architectures Cisco ASA, FWSM, IPSEC VPN, TACACS, nmap The installation, maintenance and use of security related software packages e.g. Log analysis tools, antivirus tools, Intrusion Detection Systems e.g. Snort, ISMS support tools e.g. Gstool, Application vulnerability tools e.g. acunetix Experience of working and performing the tasks listed above in 247 highavailability operations environments. Desirable Skills and Experience Change Management.
