JOB DESCRIPTION Spacecraft Operations Engineer Responsibilities Duties Tasks General Analysis of requirements and definition of improvements for the system. Operational Flight Procedures FOP and Databases Development and Verification . Support preparation and execution of the Validation and Testing campaigns. Responsible for routine satellite operations. Support Special Operations and Launch campaigns. Support to operation engineering activities meetings, documentation, Qualifications Scientific profile Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification Required knowledge . Experience in mission preparation and control systems based on SCOS and MOIS Knowledge of spacecraft operations related ECSS and CCSDS standards Knowledge of satellite subsystems Secure Data Handling DHS, Payload, Attitude Orbit and Control, Electrical and Power Systems, Telemetry and Telecommand Systems. Space Operations Engineer at the Galileo Control Center Oberpfaffenhofen Your Mission DLR GfR mbH is a company of the German Aerospace Center DLR. Since 2008 we conduct and operate space projects with focus on satellitebased navigation under industrial conditions. Under a contract with the European Commission and the European Space Agency, DLR GfR has the core task to operate the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen. Our special focus is to provide reliable, safe and secure operations services being fundamental for the provision of stable and accurate navigation services. Since the first launch of two Galileo satellites in October 2011, the DLR GfR team is responsible for the spacecraft operations of the Galileo constellation. A second pair of Galileo satellites has been successfully launched in October 2012. After the successful commissioning and signal test phase, the first Galileo only position fix has been established on 12. March 2013. The next launch is planned for autumn 2013. Qualifications Experience University or similar degree in aerospace, electronics or physics Minimum of 2 years experiences with operational aspects of satellites.
