JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks You will be part of an onsite systems engineering team to maintain the overall system design documentation of EUMETSAT GEO Meteosat and LEO EPS satellite ground segments. Task and Responsibilities Maintain system requirements, interfaces and design baseline Model systems using MBSE Approach Review system evolutions and support IVV Workplace EUMETSAT Qualifications Minimum Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline Required knowledge Minimum of three years engineering experience in at least one of the system components of a ground segment of an earth observation satellite. The Biomass System Engineer will provide management and specialized engineering support to ESAESRIN for the development of the Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS of the ESA Biomass mission. HeShe will be responsible for the technical coordination of the PDGS development during all its phases. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include PDGS system requirements specification. PDGS architectural design specification. PDGS subsystems requirements definition. PDGS subsystems Industrial Procurement preparation. PDGS Integration and Validation specification. Knowledge of the ECSS standards and, as an asset, documentation and configuration control management techniques. The following skills would be highly desirable Knowledge of the ESA Earth Explorers missions and instruments and processes related to their PDGS development. Summary An opportunity for an experienced Earth Observation mission or Systems engineer, to work on customer premises for Telespazio VEGA UK. Objective To provide system engineering support to the Future Missions and Instruments Division for Mission and System Studies, with ESA Earth Observation section. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will be expected to Support the definition and monitoring of activities for the preparation of future ESA Earth Observation EO missions, in particular for Copernicus Sentinels, new Earth ExplorerEarth Watch missions, Opportunity Missions, Fsats and Scout missions and operational meteorology missions Provide system engineering support to InCubed missions Review Technical Notes and actively participate to progress meetings and reviews related to EO future mission and system studies Support elaboration of SoWs, system requirements documents SRD and other applicable and reference documents for future mission and system studies Contributing to ensure the technical coherency of the system design of future EO missions, including, as needed, functional analysis and design, overall system concept, system level budgets, system performance analyses, definition of spacecraft andor payload subsystems and related data processing, and interfaces between payloadplatform and launcher and ground segment Perform internal studies for future EO missions, in particular to assess the results of external activities or to prepare the formulation of new mission concepts, including preliminary sizing of platformpayload, first estimation of the system engineering and performance budgets, with a focus on the space segment and its interfaces with the launcher and the ground segment Perform internal studies to evaluate the complementarity between ESA EO future missions and other missions existing or planned by other space organizations, including mission analysis and assessment of potential synergy or overlap of mission capabilities.
