Engineer, System Reliability United States Manassas, Virginia ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The System Reliability Engineer is a key member of the SES Networks Ground Systems engineering team providing technical leadership and expertise in the areas of satellite terminal, gateway, and baseband systems sustainment and support. The engineers primary objective is to ensure SES Networks customers have the highest quality gateways, terminals and baseband systems available, meeting the companys system performance requirements by driving continuous performance improvement. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Perform system engineering performance analyses in support of the SES Networks ground terminal and baseband systems Provide technical support to internal customers to resolve systemic engineering HWSW issues on existing customer deployed MEO Ka compatible antennas, RF components, and baseband equipment Develop and distribute resolutions to systemic issues using our Configuration Management process through field bulletins, software updates, manual updates, and training if needed Develop performance analyses strategies and tools to identify performance deficiencies in the deployed customer terminals Engage with antenna system, RF component, and baseband vendors to resolve HWSW issues including quality deficiencies identified in fielded terminals Identify and develop corrective actions and improvements in the deployed customer terminals Develop and document requirements, specifications, interfaces, test plans, and supporting the Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment programs Develop forwardlooking architectures and designs that support implementation of evolving O3b products and capabilities based on performance analysis Lead development of advanced terminal capabilities including antennas, modems, and RF components COMPETENCIES Customer focus Problem solving Selfstarter Oral and written communication Team player Leadership Prioritization Detail oriented Global cultural awareness QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE Required Minimum 610 years of combined education and experience in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Operational experience in remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WANLAN equipment Moderate experience in development and deployment of VSAT systems Working knowledge of LinuxUnix operating systems Fluency in English, other languages are beneficial 10 of domestic and international travel Preferred Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Moderate experience in the telecommunications or satellite industry Moderate experience in performance analysis of satellite communication systems, satellite terminal systems, satellitebased networking data systems, and KaBand systems Working knowledge of internetbased network connectivity principles and implementation ExcellentGood command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio Whats in it for you? Senior Test Engineer ARC System Luxembourg Betzdorf Role description summary The Engineer SDRM System Dynamic Resource Management development is responsible to ensure technical compliance and performance of the SDRM software, which is a critical infrastructure for GEO and MEO satellite to manage and organize the network resources. The SDRM development engineer analyses the algorithm performance, interacts with the development team of the SDRM on critical system related issues, is responsible for the implementation requirements, the operations concepts and the technical compliance of the dynamic resource manager system for multiple satellite systems. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Define SDRM requirements, ConOps, interfaces and tests Follow development and implementation work as expert resident software engineer at a software development company Ensure contract compliance and quality assurance of software development processes Follow critical tests throughout the software development process Work with an experienced team using agile methodologies Develop highquality software requirements user stories, designs and architectures Design and write software that addresses complex requirements, perform associated software unit testing and software integration.
