The successful applicant shall perform tasks related to mission control system operations and engineering For Copernicus Sentinel3 mission for routine Sentinel3A operations, as well as for the commissioning phase for Sentinel3B leading to the routine operations phase for the dual satellite system. The onsite resident engineer provides Satellite RF Payload technical leadership to the OneWeb program at the spacecraft manufacturer. The Resident Engineer will ensure sound technical execution of the design, assembly integration and test during the production phase of the program. He or she will follow the program through the first ten satellites in Toulouse, France, through the wider production of the wider constellation in Florida, United States. This role will be part of a wider onsite engineering team responsible for ensuring compliance with the specifications of the contract and management of the schedule. In charge of developing a realtime pose estimation software system to process imagery i.e., computer vision captured by a small satellite. Design algorithms for position and attitude estimation based on imagery taken by a small satellite in Earth orbit. Involves skill such as feature extraction and model matching. Generate prototypes inhouse, as well as coordination with external software developers vendors. Conduct groundbased verification and validation on the entire image processing system including optical sensors and processing hardware. Generate test plan and conduct procurement as necessary. Supervise any tests at external sites. Manage interface between image processing system and other satellite onboard subsystems, such as the attitude and orbit control system AOCS and command and data handling CDH.
