MTG System Management Support Engineer

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the MTG management in the maintenance of the detailed development logic and schedule of the MTG Programme, in particular for the integration, validation and verification of the system. The position is based in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Maintain a detailed development logic and schedule of the MTG Programme, in particular for the integration, validation and verification of the system including all the subsystems and services, consistently with overall programme constraints, and in coordination with the relevant teams, contractors and partners Ensuring that the corresponding development logic and schedule remains at all times consistent with programme constraints Performing a critical path assessment and analysis of each version of the schedule Determining a forecast for their completion of the activities main reviews. Track activities progress against agreed development plans and schedule and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with the elaboration of proposals to reduce the impact of any deviation Provide once per month a schedule summary report for the Schedule Control Board on development progress against the development schedule and the status of interactions Identify interactions among subsystems and partnerscontractors and associate them with main development milestones and work breakdown structure. Support defining interactions between subsystems, together with their need dates. Interactions shall cover Deliverables hardware, software, databases, documentation, algorithms, test data sets, tools, configuration statuses Support mutual review support, joint integration and testing, operational rehearsals preparation and execution, test data analyses Access to services, sites, facilities, infrastructure and interfaces. Generate and analyse schedule performance indicators, milestone trend charts Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have university degree in a management or engineering discipline. You should have at least 3 years proven handson experience in project planning, scheduling, monitoring and control. You have an extensive handson experience in schedule preparation, monitoring and control, for complexlarge system programmes, preferably space systems, as well as in planning and monitoring the allocated resources You have extensive experience in using Microsoft Project or a similar project management tool suite e.g. Primavera, You have knowledge of and handson experience with project management standards e.g., ECSS and project scheduling concepts and techniques, You are able to draft concise management reports and executive level presentations in English, You have extensive handson experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite and in particular Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Your Tasks The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test procedures for the verification of requirements of the MTG ground segment. The following tasks are required Review and Update of Test Specifications Review and update the Test Specifications for MTG GS verification for the activities planned in particular verify The completeness of the test specification against the extent of testing foreseen in the GSIVP and GSVCD Consistency if the test specifications with respect to the relevant objectives, ie functions, interfaces, requirements to be verified, and with respect to the configuration to be used, including facilities, MMEs, test tools, test data, relevant environments and infrastructure elements. The compatibility of the time planned for the execution of the tests with the availability of the configuration elements and estimated test duration The suitability of the test specification for the generation of test procedures and test data Generation of Test Procedures The following test procedures are required to be produced MC Chain Verification 2 IDPF L2PF integration procedures The test procedures shall be based on the test specifications and provide additional detailed information needed for the execution of each test case, and the assessment of the outcome. They shall contain step by step instructions, identify the requirements or design aspects to be verified, the outputs to be collected the analysis to be performed, the passfail criteria Identification of Required Test Tools and Data During the finalisation of test specifications, the planned utilization of test tools shall be verified. This shall identify any needs for additional tools to be able to execute the full set of tests foreseen. A similar exercise will be undertaken for test data. Adaptation or Development of Required Test Tools and Data Upon review and approval of the plan for the implementation of test tools and data by our Client, their development and preparation shall be performed. Your Tasks The tasks of the Consultant are related to different phases in the life cycle of the Ground systems. The Consultant will contribute to activities of a given programme mainly corresponding to Phase C various stages of the Detailed Design under definition and development. Phase D Implementation and Validation, as contribution to Integration, Verification and Validation. The main emphasis is on the payload data ground segment of the EPSSG programme. This covers payload data acquisition ground stations and data processing elements. The Consultant will perform typical system engineering activities in the lifecycle of a system, such as Requirements engineering mainly related to the verification processes, and encompassing downward and upward traceability, allocation and apportionment, and management with respect to verification control databases and the verification process Design defining the conceptual build and configuration which results in a physical architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics Planning, preparation and execution of integration and verification, with the final objective to demonstrate that the deliverables conform to the specified requirements. Specifically, for ground segment phase C and D, the Consultant shall provide the following engineering activities Requirements engineering in DOORS.
