This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. EPSSG System Planning Service 1913056 Job Description We are looking for a System Planning Engineer for our customer, EUMETSAT. You will focus on defining and maintaining the EPSSG system development logic, schedule, all subsystem interactions and to report system schedule changes. The EPSSG system covers the space segment satellite and instruments, ground segment, satellite application facilities SAFs, launcher service and LEOP service, as well as the corresponding Integration, Verification Validation IVV and operations preparation activities. Satellite development is carried out under ESA responsibility but must be coordinated with all other EUMETSAT developments, and all of its interactions with the rest of the system will be defined as part of this activity. The tasks and responsibilities to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase C and Phase D will typically include the following Maintain the system development logic covering all system elements, up to the time of the handover of the last satellite to the Operations Department Maintain a detailed system development schedule in coordination with all subsystems and partners, together with a critical path analysis of each version of the schedule Identify all interactions between subsystems and partners, and associate them with main system development milestones and the program work breakdown structure Provide inputs to the sections of the System Development Plan concerning system development logic, schedule and interactions Prepare and maintain Interactions Documents for partners, defining all interactions between subsystems, together with their need dates. Interactions will cover such areas as Deliverables hardware, software, databases, documentation, algorithms, test data sets, tools, configuration statuses Support mutual review support, joint test and operational rehearsals preparation and execution, test data analyses Access to services, sites, facilities, infrastructure and interfaces Manage the configuration of all schedule and Interactions Documents versions Follow up all subsystem developments and participate in any necessary meetings and reviews Track progress against agreed development plans and Interaction Documents and signal any likely or identified deviations from these plans, together with proposals to reduce the impact of any delays Provide regular tracking metrics and summary reports on system development progress against the development schedule and the status of interactions Travel within Europe, to the United States and possibly other parts of the world may have to be undertaken for certain tasks. GALILEO Spacecraft Operations System Engineering Service

Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. The primary areas of responsibility for this position consists in spacecraft operations engineering activities and monitoring of all operations activities executed by the Galileo Operator, including the different phases of operations preparation, validation and execution. This is a job for an Engineer preferred with a degree in the area of Electronic, Aerospace or Telecommunications Engineering. The position is based directly on customer site in ESTEC in the Netherlands. It is a fulltime position requiring frequent travel within Europe twice per month and the ability to obtain European security clearance. Deadline for submission is 29th of October. Start of the position can be earliest December 2017. ResponsibilitiesDuties The general activities to be supported in this position will be Support Space Segment SSEG engineering activities to ensure operability, in particular compliance of space segment products with operations requirements, including new OnBoard SW versions, user manuals, flight procedures, etc. Production of segment operability requirements for new sc or new sw releases, also based on lessons learned and inflight anomalies, operational improvements, as provided by the European GNSS Agency GSA and its Galileo Service Operator GSOp. Technical coordination of FOC Satellite manufacturer activity in support to corrective maintenance i.e. generation of OBSW upgrades Technical coordination of the ESA involvement in the Operations anomalies handling, nonconformance handling and technical configuration control boards processes in liaison with the GSA and its Operator, Support the GSA in the evaluation and execution of all operations activities executed by the Galileo Operator, ensuring the preparation, validation and execution of operations and plans Followup of special operations, with particular attention but not limited to anomaly resolution cases, including evaluation and reporting of proper execution of spacecraft and mission operations. Supervision of technical coordination between inorbit space segment maintenance activities performed by ESA SSEG and operational validation of maintenance products performed by GSOp including OBSW patches or new SW versions General Flight Control Support Service including participation to System Compatibility Test Campaigns and Spacecraft Performance Analysis as required Contribute to the definition of the System Level Operational concepts and requirements for the next generation of Galileo Satellites along with the interfaces with the ground infrastructure and associated External Interfaces for the different project phases. Participation to Galileo related review panels, evaluation boards, as required. QualificationsExperience University degree or equivalent education in Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
