Spun yarn prices are bottoming out in China over a slight rebound of demand ahead of lunar year holidays. Optimism is back and inventories are being replenished, as activities are expected to recover after holidays and the successful end of the trade war with the United States. Cotton prices have last week rebounded over a series of unverified rumors circulating in New York, in absence of USDA data banned by the US government shutdown. Demand from China would surge after a successful end of current trade negotiations, whereas large sales would be reported to Vietnam and Pakistan. In China, demand for Australian cotton would have been very strong in the past weeks.
