Spun yarn prices have continued rising in the last seven days in India, whatever the lack of demand from export markets in the current period. If polyester fiber prices have been raised, cotton fiber prices are pressured by a rise of cotton imports from other origins. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.

Yarn prices were staying frozen at the start of the new week in China, as holiday mood was still prevailing and further freezing market operations. China's cotton use is now expected declining this season, according to latest data from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The weakness in demand and a decrease of international cotton prices could pressure cotton yarn prices in China. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
