A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Ground Systems Engineer for a team leading role with Astrium in Portsmouth. This is a central role on a project deploying the ground control segment for a very high profile satellite constellation This role forms part of the Galileo Ground Control Segment AIV Assembly, Integration and Verification team. The team is currently deployed across two sites one in Germany and one in Italy and is undertaking the ground segment integration and verification in preparation for live satellite operations. The role is based out of the Portsmouth office but will require the successful candidate to be seconded abroad to Germany for at least the first two years. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Overall responsibility for the execution of Test Campaigns Coordination of the test team for test runs Technical leading and contribution to the development of test cases Organisation of the configuration of the applicationsnetwork if necessary Overall responsibility for the raising of anomaly reports Supporting NonConformance Review Boards Chairing of Test Readiness Review meetings for the Test Campaigns Reporting to the AIV Manager Responsible for update and maintenance of test procedures, test data and tools Support supplier and site manager with new installations of element sw or hw EADS Recruitment Centre Applications should be made via the EADS website. Strong experience in Flight Operations Systems, Mission Planning systems or Flight Dynamics Experience in running the whole cycle of a test campaign. The ability to assimilate the big picture and liaise technically at all levels is central to this role as is an understanding of the lifecycle of space mission projects and the ability to interface with customers, industrial team partners and subcontractors.
