Earth Observation Data Scientist SW Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic and userfocused data scientist SW engineer with experience in Earth observation data to work on projects for our client EUMETSAT. Proficiency in high level programming languages preferably python and a general knowledge of satellite Earth observation measurements for meteorology, climate, ocean, atmosphere is required. Main responsibilities include providing first line user support for EUMETSAT data services developing codebased training materials for endusers of EO satellite data and in particular Copernicus products delivering training on using such codebased approaches. POSITION SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and improving algorithms for predicting crop yields and irrigation scheduling. The successful applicant will develop commercial products and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer. The applicant must be familiar with various remote sensing data EO and SAR data, from platforms such as Sentinel, Landsat, and MODIS. The Senior Data Scientist will work in collaboration with partner organizations in Luxembourg. The ideal candidate will also apply their strong writing skills in generating proposals with other Hydrosat technical team members for future research activities. Education Advanced degree MastersPhD with at least 5 years of relevant work experience specializing in Data Processing and Remote Sensing Skills and Experience Knowledge of statistical analysis Strong programming skills in Python and other data processing software Highly selfmotivated, keen learner able to solve challenging problems with creative solutions Organizational skills Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Language Spoken and written proficiency in English is mandatory Proficiency in one of the official languages of Luxembourg is desirable French, German or Luxembourgish Location Luxembourg Start Date Immediate Contract Type Full Time, Permanent INTERESTED?
