The Challenge We are looking for software test engineer to support software maintenance and extension, regression testing, software integration, releases preparation and verification and validation of software products. The successful candidate will support the activities of Termas longterm customer, an international astronomical institute based in Munich. Typical tasks include Testing data flow applications databasedriven Java web and desktop GUI applications, command line tools, distributed applications according to established quality assurance standards. This task includes analysing and capturing user requirements, producing and automating test cases, plans and reports. Platforms used Windows, Linux and MacOS Analysing test results and investigating anomalies Maintaining automated test suites Testing telescope application software Maintaining and upgrading an inhouse developed automatic inspection tool written in Perl Analysing test results and collaborating with developers in investigating anomalies Contributing to establishing and implementing testing standards across projects environment, procedures, tools and documentation. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in July 2014. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have an university degree, preferably computer science, physics, electrical engineering or other suitable qualification together with at least 3 years experience testing web applications, graphical user interfaces and embedded software. Essential skills are Experience with both manual and fully automated testing Very good knowledge of testing of Java Desktop GUIs under Windows, Linux andor MacOS Very good knowledge of testing of dynamic web applications, including Javascript centric single page applications Significant experience with relational databases and designing SQL queries Basic experience in testing tools like Selenium andor QFTest Good knowledge of testing of embedded SW under Linux Good knowledge of test automation Good knowledge scripting languages, preferably Perl andor Python Significant experience with configuration management tools, preferably SVN Familiarity with professional software development and testing methodologies and standard software engineering practices Excellent knowledge of scripting languages UNIX shell, Perl and software build tools Fluency in English, both in speech and writing is mandatory. Desirable skills are Experience writing documentation on test tools and environment, as well as test case descriptions and test reports Experience with tools for static and dynamic code checking Significant experience with continuous integration and related tooling, e.g. CruiseControl Significant experience with static and dynamic code checking tools The position requires a great deal of independence and selfmotivation. The candidate should be able to work with little supervision, but also be able to contribute to the team effort. Data Dissemination Engineer

This is a permanent position, calling for experience of realtime data dissemination systems. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for an initial period of two years with a probable further two years work there. Candidates should ideally be available to start in May. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The main working language is English. As a member of a Realtime Services and System Operations Division, you will provide support to the routine monitoring, development and operation of current and future data dissemination systems. The duties range from the support to the operation of the various dissemination components, to the analysis, testing, and implementation of new data streams and monitoring and reporting functions. The role also includes the settingup and implementation of operational procedures, and coordination with external organisations and service providers. For our activities in ESOC, Serco is looking to fill a Spacecraft Operations Engineer position to work as part of the SEOSATIngenio Flight Control Team. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The position is for supporting the SOM during the prelaunch. LEOP and commissioning phases in the preparation of the operational products, in particular the Operational DB and the Flight Operations Procedures and timelines SVT preparation and execution Mission Control System validation simulator validation training and Simulations LEOP Commissioning preparation and execution The SEOSATIngenio team being of a reduced size and the ESOC involvement finishing at the end of the commissioning phase, the SOE is expected to be flexible enough to take tasks for different subsystems. In particular the selected candidate must be able to take care of the Data Handling operations preparation, and help in the production of the procedures and SVT test cases for other subsystems. The execution of the work might require periods at the Routine Phase Control Centre, located in Madrid. This is expected to be the case for some of the SVTs, and during part of the commissioning phase. A close collaboration with the Routine Phase ground segment contractor and operator will also be required. In addition to the tasks on SEOSATIngenio, assistance for other missions in preparation by the division could be required by the SOM for the same type of activities. In particular, due to the commonality between the SEOSATIngenio and the Sentinel5 Precursor satellites, and the similar schedule, the assigned person will be requested to support as well the preparation activities for that mission. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants should have a university degree in engineering or physics, with good knowledge of spacecraft subsystems. Professional experience commensurate to the tasks listed above in particular in spacecraft operations is required.
