San Bruno: PG&E to release 65,000 emails, PUC president calls city officials "nuts" and "emotional"

PG&E on Monday agreed to release 65,000 emails that have been demanded by critics who believe the utility and state regulators have a cozy relationship -- and also released a series of emails that included state Public Utilities President Michael Peevey describing San Bruno's mayor as "emotional" and San Bruno's city manager as "nuts." The new set of emails suggest that PG&E and top officials at the state PUC have worked cooperatively on an array of issues that go well beyond the close ties that have emerged in the wake of a fatal explosion in San Bruno more than four years ago.
