US apparel imports have continued rising in the second quarter of 2019, as retailers and brands have not reduced their sourcing from China, whatever the threat of additional tariffs. Unit values of Chinese products have dropped, whereas prices were significantly climbing from most other origins. Vietnam mulls apparel safeguards under CPTPP

Clothing, footwear and handbags are among the top five most highly pirated goods, according to a new report from the US National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center), which says the suggested retail price value of counterfeit apparel seizures in 2018 reached $115.1m.
