Job Description In the frame of ESA and NASA space missions, Active Space Technologies GmbH is performing a broad range of Product and Quality Assurance activities on instruments and subsystems. Hardware Reliability Assurance, Hardware Quality Assurance and Materials, Mechanical Parts and Processes are subsets of these activities. The candidate shall be responsible for performing the Hardware Reliability Assurance, Hardware Quality Assurance and Materials, Mechanical Parts and Processes activities according to ECSS and NASA standards in the frame of space instruments, subsystems and satellite systems. This includes Definition, supervision and validation of Hardware Quality Assurance plans and activities for space instruments, subsystems and satellite systems. Performance of reliability analyses FMEAFMECA of systems and interfaces, creation and management of CILs, FTA of mechanisms, as well as evaluation of redundancy concepts and performance parameter trending and analysis. Management of projectspecific technical risks, establishment of a Risk Register and verification of the quality assurance aspects of the associated mitigation plans. Quality control of procurement specifications, manufacturing and assembly drawings, interface control documentation, stress analysis reports, assembly integration and testing plans, activities and reports, unit log books, as well as incoming and outgoing inspections of products. Verification and approval of materials, mechanical parts and processes according to ECSS and NASA standards. This includes the establishment of projectspecific materials, mechanical parts and processes databases an their maintenance. Verification of compliance with ECSS and NASA Configuration Management policies, establishment and maintenance of CIDLs. Required Experience and skills Bachelor or equivalent degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Quality Engineering. 3 years of experience as Quality Engineer in the space sector, with duties in the abovementioned disciplines. Wellfounded knowledge of the space environment, space hardware and typical PAQA procedures and issues of the space sector. Fluent in English, spoken and written Proven ability to create, write and maintain technical documents Team spirit and flexibility Desired Experience Theoretical foundations on Quality Engineering, best if during a universitylevel course master or postmaster. Specific experience in qualification of components and mechanisms for use in space instrumentation and space environment, including reliability analyses, spacequalification standards and procedures, and qualification testing. Additional experience in safety and hazard analysis will bring a significant addedvalue to your application. Knowledge of German. Nationality Due to existing contractual limitations, the position is open only to Nationals of NATO and EU Countries, Russia, Israel, Switzerland, Tunisia, Australia and New Zealand. A Software Quality Engineer Vacancy has arisen with Astrium in Stevenage. The Software Quality Engineer SQE will be responsible for ensuring that the software project products and processes are performed in accordance with the plans and applicable standards, on behalf of the Project Manager. Typical tasks include Definition of the quality objectives and the Project Software Quality Assurance Baseline, producing the applicable Software Quality Assurance Plan, Project Standards and Quality Operational Procedures. Supporting the Software Project Manager in the definition and the implementation of the overall software project processes, in the definition of the development logic and in the choice of methods and tools to be used. Assessment of the Software Processes and the quality of the various items of the Software Product through quality inspections, reviews, audits, collection and analysis of metrics. Chair andor support reviews e.g. PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB, DRB. Approval of all documentation. Assessment and reporting on the quality of the Software Product and Processes, in periodic reports through the MPRs and in the specific reports allocated to the Reviews. Management of the interface with the internal andor external customer on the Software Quality matters, in agreement with the Project Manager. The successful applicant will have the following skills and competencies Strong Software Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management Processes andor engineering background adhering to formal standards in particular ECSSE40 and ECSSQ80. Exposure to realtime, embedded, missioncritical software space or aerospace desirable. Conversant with the requirements of ISO 9001 familiarity with CMMI.
