(Telecompaper) Vodafone Netherlands has partnered with insurer National Nederlanden to test a new prepaid insurance. The service targets drivers who use their cars little and want to save on insurance costs. The prepaid policy covers them for up to 1,000 km, a distance tracked by a 'smart plug' in the car that connects to the Vodafone mobile network. Once they approach this limit, an alert is sent to the user, and if they exceed the limit, the insurance is automatically extended.
