General tasks to be performed Elaboration of Satellite Operational Concepts Coordination and tradeoff requirements for mission with Systems Engineering incorporating operability requirements Flowdown of requirements for Ground Segment Operations Development Operations DDV Operational Test planning and satellite operations training Operations execution Development of Ground Systems Concepts Interface Management to Suppliers for e.g. ground support tools, Subcontractors e.g. service contracts for LEOP, ground stations and to the Space Segment Team Production of Operation Handbooks Production and validation of Flight Procedures Support engineering of the SC simulator Generation of Specifications e.g. Satellite to Ground station interface, Simulators Support for project proposal generation To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required University degree MSc, as well as 5 years or more experience with satellite operations or similar. Fluent in English working language, German would be an advantage Experience and knowledge of DOORS, SCOS, ECSS would be an asset. Exelis is the prime contractor to NASA for the RBI.

In this role you will have the central responsibility for the Electrical Systems Engineering for Radar Applications work package and for the deliveries of the related items hardware, models, documentation in space programmes during the BCD phases. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Coordination the electrical team, if in place Acting as the Focal Point for the customer and suppliers on all ELSYS subjects Analysing applicable highlevel requirements. Cascading down the aforementioned requirements to the functional chains and the subsystem electrical requirements Defining the electrical architecture for the radar payload Defining system components such as Radar RF Frontend items TransmitReceive Modules, distribution networks etc. Antenna Control Electronics Antenna Power Supply Distribution System and Units Others, on a casebycase basis Ensuring coengineering with suppliers Coordinating the relevant design and MAIT activities at the supplier level Supporting the project team members and other disciplines for ELSYS matters Supporting the relevant operations and AIT activities at the system level Contributing to the related internalexternal RD and improvementstandardisation initiatives This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
