Software Engineer Earth Observation Mission Control System

Responsibilities Duties Tasks Our subsidiary CS GmbH, located in Darmstadt, is looking for a Software Engineer. The key person will be assigned as consultant at our customer premises at Darmstadt. The key person will integrate a team of software engineers under the direction of the project manager in CS GmbH. This activity includes, among others, the following tasks Support mission control systems for various ESA missions based on S2K e.g. Aeolus MCS, BIOMASS MCS, FLEX MCS Migration of EO missions to EGOSCC and preparation of future EO EGOSCC missions Support to RD activities Support to technical meetings with customers Intensive test and validation activities Requirements Any knowledge and experience in ESOC software development or maintenance in the space environment would be an important asset. Additionally, an experience in project and team coordination will be necessary to lead some activities in collaboration with our customer andor 3rd party entities. Academic background You shall have M.Sc. in Computer Science Engineer, Telecommunications Engineer or equivalent. At least 3 years experience Technical skills Good knowledge of ESOC infrastructure e.g. Scos2000, EGSCC, EGOSCC Good knowledge of ESOC operational environment Good knowledge in CICD, orchestration and DevOps tools knowledge of Standards Engineering and Quality knowledge in UnixLinuxwindows environments knowledge in configuration management such as SVN GIT Others skills Proficiency in English language Good organisation and good communication skills Ability to work autonomously in a challenging environment.

Adavanced Computer Systems ACS, a company of Exprivia group, is looking for a Data Access Expert for the Earth Observation satellite mission operations and maintenance. The selected person will be inserted in the Operations Engineering support team, and work in strict cooperation with the Operations Manager, ACS Project Manager and ACS Maintenance and Operations responsible, to carry out anomaly investigation and first line maintenance duties on the SW components developed and maintained by ACS. As part of his tasks, he will Monitor and maintain all ACS components deployed in various centers in a working state Monitor and maintain configuration changes to the components Control proper usage of the data access chain by the users, and raise associated anomaly if any Analyse system level anomalies allocated by the system manager, and cascade them to correct software level anomalies Manage technical and programmatic communications with the core procurement team providing the components Propose workaround for critical Software Problem Reports Maintain and monitor anomalies corrections delay and contents Validate new software versions, patches and workarounds Provide contribution to Operations Reports regarding the data access chain Participate to operations meetings, both internal and with the Customer Report to the System Manager, ACS Project Manager and ACS Maintenance and Operations manager The candidate shall have working experience in complex systems engineering and development, preferably in the field of Satellite Ground Systems engineering and operations, good knowledge of Linux operating system, and working knowledge of relational databases Postgres. A good knowledge of English language written and spoken is mandatory, as well as availability to work abroad for long periods at least six months, after a training period in ACS.

Earth Observation Mission Spacecraft Operations Engineer

This role is for delivering a Spacecraft Operations Engineering service, requiring a junior Spacecraft Operations Engineer, assigned initially to preoperational Sentinel or Earth Explorer missions within the ESOC Earth Observation mission division. The primary areas of responsibility for this service covers Spacecraft Platform Thermal, Power, TTC and Ground Operations engineer in support to the Earth Observation missions, in prevision of the upcoming preoperational activities to be performed with the current and future Sentinels and Earth Explorers missions. The successful engineer will be assigned as a member of the Flight Control Team FCT, to participate in the preoperational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning and in testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests. The service provider may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Responsibilities Duties The general activities to be supported by this service, dependant on the mission phase, are Satellite Operations Validation, test and operation of the Mission Control System MCS, including the Mission Planning System, Validation, test and operation of the Simulator, Generation, validation and maintenance of the Flight Operations Procedures FOP, initially for the platform PowerThermalTTC area, but also for other subsystems Support for Flight Operations Segment FOS procurement, integration and tests, Participation in System Validation Tests SVT, Ground Segment Validation GSV and Training and Simulations programme, Review of satellite documentation, Participation to preoperational activities LEOP andor Commissioning operations as required. Ground Segment Operations Collection of information data regarding the performance of the mission and provision of inputs for mission reports, Support the FCT in the configuration, setup and operation of the Sentinels NDIU CORTEX and Lite, Support the FCT in the configuration, setup and operation of the Sentinels MUST and GFTS servers, Routine Mission plan generation supportchecking, as required. Qualifications Experiences University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. Essential skills Initial experience 12 years in working in an operational environment, Initial experience 12 years with flight procedures life cycle, including validation, Initial experience 12 years with the Packet Utilisation Standard PUS, Initial experience 12 years in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. SVTs and GSVs, Good experience with office automation tools, including MSEXCEL and MSACCESS, Some programming experience, possibly with Visual Basic andor SQL, Initial experience 12 years with anomaly investigations at Ground Segment level, Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat 12 years, Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 12 years Initial experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations 12 years, ideally including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP and special operations LEOP, simulations campaign, Commissioning, Wellorganised, proactive, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel, Capable of coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields, Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. Vous participez au dveloppement des activits de mission satellite dobservation de la Terre ou scientifique. La programmation mission est une tape essentielle qui permet de programmer le satellite pour quil remplisse sa mission initiale. In fine elle permet lutilisateur ou loprateur final de consulter des images prises par le satellite ou de rceptionner des donnes scientifiques qui seront traites puis exploites par des experts. Ingnieur de formation ou quivalent universitaire, vous bnficiez dune premire exprience dans le domaine spatial et en particulier de la mission. Vous avez de bonnes connaissances des segments sol spatiaux et composants logiciels mission, ainsi que des cycles de dveloppement conception, dveloppement, assemblage, intgration et validation. Vous maitrisez des technologies informatiques telles que Java, J2E, eclipse, eclipse RCP4 ou JBOSS. Une connaissance de la chaine de programmation mission serait un plus.
