Galileo Ground Segment System Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leader in exciting and technologically sophisticated projects in the areas of space transportation and satellites. You will be working onsite as Sites and Deployment Engineer for the Galileo Control Centre GCC. You will have the following responsibilities Follow up site the deployment of the ground segment elements at the Galileo Control Center GCC sites Review and verification of the control centre site, including support in the negotiations with the provider of the site Optimise the facilities shared across different segments in the control centre Maintain common GCC related documentation e.g. site interface control documents and Galileo Ground Segment Integration Standard documents Coordinate GCC Common Ground Segment and System AIV activities with segment deployment, upgrade and operations activities Coordinate all onsite technical and organisational matters with external and internal partners. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in aerospace engineering, physics or equivalent Several years of professional experience in the deployment of ground segment elements and AIV activities Good process knowledge as well as knowledge of documentation control related standards, such as ECSS Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory Italian would be an asset. Ground Segment Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the ADM Aeolus project team, you will be working in the Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes at ESAESTEC. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Act as project responsible for the E2SL1L2 processors including managing the development of the E2SL1L2 processor, implementing the Anomaly Review process, acceptance of new E2SL1L2 software by installing with help of TEC support and running E2SL1L2 software in house Support the development of the L2 processor including acceptance of new L2 software, reviewassessment of associated documentation, attending followup progress meetings, impelementing the Anomaly Review process and runnig the L2 standalone software Support the Project for performance related issues including follow up of Industrys work on ground processing and algorithms, evaluation of Industrys mission error budgets and modelling, translation of instrument characteristics to mission level and review the Flight Operation Manuals for relevant volumessections Support the CALVAL campaign including the revision of the CalVal plan,preparation phase and CalVal after Launch. Extended knowledge of data analysisprocessing statistics, error budgets simulations data tools such as Mathlab. Working knowledge on remote sensing techniques, with a focus on optical systems transmissions, backscatter, extinction processing algorithms detectors. Good knowledge of computer environment Linux, GNU compilers, Mathlab, scripting such as python, shell scripts, perl. Affinity with numerical weather prediction is an advantage. Good level of autonomy and organizing skills are desired. Good communication and analytical skills to interface with colleagues within ESA and with external partners and industry are essential.
