Senior Engineer, Ground Systems Luxembourg Betzdorf Your Job You will be a key member of the SES Engineering Ground Systems Engineering team, providing technical expertise in the areas of satellite earth stations and the development of Next Generation gateways. In this role, your primary objective is to provide highest quality integrated, turnkey systems which meet the companys system performance requirements. Your Responsibilities Design, specify and implement satellite gateway systems, which may be combinded with TTC function, including fixed or mobile antennas, HPAs, switch matrix, updownconverters, TTC Modems, interfacility connection equipment and Monitor Control Systems MC Perform or support site surveys for gateway implementation, create related reports and provide site selection recommendations Design, specify and manage the integration of satellite payload measurement systems In Orbit Test system IOTS, Footprint monitoring systems and ranging systems Perform transmission analysis, in particular link budget calculations and studies in support of business development customer services and TTC applications Define and specify building and IP infrastructure as required for such ground based systems Handle budgets, procurements, manage installations and the operational handover of ground segment and communications systems In the scope of the project, coordinate with other functions Project Control, Legal, Finance for the transparent and effective realization of assigned projects You must efficiently own and implement the related full project life cycles from requirements collectiondefinition in and outside the company and budgeting via projectprogram management incl. procurement or designdevelopment to the operational 2nd3rd level support You shall as well deliver clear, concise, timely and constructive strategic or technical guidance and be cooperative support to peerscustomers in and outside the company Your Profile A recognized ElectricalTelecommunications Engineering degree BSMS or similar Minimum of 5 years Senior Engineer relevant handson engineering experience in the satellite communications domain as Systems Engineer or Test Integration Engineer Handson experience in RF measurement techniques, test and verification of ground stations and auxiliary systems Proven flexibility and reliability in delivering successfully ground system solutions globally without direct supervision Highly experienced in developing high availability satellite or telecommunications systems through the use of manned and unmanned facilities Thorough understanding of and ability to use System Engineering processes ExcellentGood command of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Autocad, Excel VBA, Windows and Linux or similar Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English, other languages are considered as valuable assets Effective communication and presentations skills in working with both technical and nontechnical support staff Ability and wiliness to integrate into an international environment, to travel internationally and to communicate with international peers and customers Whats in it for you? Senior Engineer, Ground Platforms United States Manassas, Virginia ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As the Senior Engineer, Ground Platforms, you will be responsible for testing, and deploying of TDMA and SCPC satellite communications hubs and modems, supporting both GEO and MEO constellations. You will work collaboratively with our product owners, partner vendors, network architects, and operations team. You will be held to deliver the highest quality platforms to support our customers.
